Procedures Offered

Composite Fillings. Composite fillings are both stronger and more attractive than traditional metal fillings. They blend seamlessly into your smile, providing cosmetic and restorative benefits simultaneously. Composites are less likely to cause cracks in the teeth than metal fillings. We do not place new metal fillings in our practice.Learn more about Fillings

Same Day Dental Crowns. We use the highly advanced CEREC system to provide same-day dental crowns. With CEREC, you no longer have to take time out of your busy schedule for two appointments, wait for a crown to arrive from the lab, or deal with the hassle of a temporary crown. Dental Bridges. Dental bridges are a convenient option for many patients. They consist of support crowns or implants holding artificial teeth and filling the gap. A crown-supported bridge can hold one to two artificial teeth, while an implant-supported bridge can hold up to six. Learn more about Dental Bridges

Dental Implants. Dental implants are today's best replacement for missing teeth. You can receive a single-tooth implant, an implant-supported bridge, or a full arch All-on-X implant-supported denture. Dental implants differ from other tooth replacements because they replace both the crown of the tooth and the root. Root replacement keeps the jaw bone healthy and keeps other teeth from shifting. Full Mouth Reconstruction. Full Mouth Reconstruction is a multi-step process involving many different types of cosmetic dentistry procedures to improve the health and appearance of your smile. Learn more about Full Mouth Reconstruction.

Extractions. A tooth that can not be saved with restorative procedures may need to be removed. Before removal of the tooth, the area will be numbed with anesthesia. The tooth is loosened from the jawbone and surrounding ligaments and tissues with a gentle rocking motion. Once it is loose, it is gently removed. Stitches may be necessary after the removal of a tooth. Learn more about Extractions

Frequently Asked Questions About Restorative Dentistry

How long does it take to get a same-day crown?
You can leave the office with a new CEREC crown in about two hours. The first step is taking digital images of your natural tooth to help the doctor plan your restoration. We use an intraoral scanner to improve your comfort and the quality of the images. Next, the dentist prepares your tooth, removing any decayed or damaged areas and creating a smooth fit for the crown. She takes another set of impressions with the intraoral scanner to plan the crown's interior fit. The images and data go into the CEREC machine, which mills your crown from high-tech ceramics in minutes. When your crown comes out of the machine, the doctor will shape it to fit precisely and check your bite to ensure it feels natural. Your CEREC crown will last as long or longer than a standard porcelain crown.
How long do dental implants last?
Dental implants are durable restorations that last for several years. The post that replaces the natural root may last a lifetime with proper care. The dental crown that tops the restoration may need periodic replacement every seven to 10 years due to normal wear.
Why are composite fillings preferred over metal?
Composite fillings visually match the natural tooth surface. They restore teeth without placing undue stress on their structure. In the case of a cavity that is too large for a composite filling, we would place a porcelain crown.
What is the difference between traditional dentures and implant-supported dentures?
Traditional dentures fit over the gum line after removing natural teeth. They stay in place because they receive expert fitting. Sometimes, they need adhesive to keep from slipping. Despite the dentist's best efforts, sometimes traditional dentures slip and trap food. Implant-supported dentures like All-on-X anchor to your jawbone with just a handful of implants. They provide safety, convenience, and easy chewing.
How long will my gum take to heal if I need an extraction?
The gum will close around the tooth removal site in about three days. In seven to 10 days, the opening in your gums should be nearly closed, and your gums will no longer feel swollen or tender.
